Samsung is expected to launch its next smartphone with a book-style foldable display, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, at the Galaxy Unpacked event next month. So far, there have been many leaks and rumours about the device, revealing its features and specifications. Today, we have one more, and it confirms that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and suggests that the brand may launch the device soon.
The United States of America’s Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has certified a Samsung smartphone with model number SM-F966B. Going by Samsung’s model number convention for smartphones and multiple reports, this is the international variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The certification says that the phone uses the SM8750 SoC, which is the model number for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite.
Apart from that, the certification reveals that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will have 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Ultra-wide Band (UWB), wireless charging, and wireless power sharing. While none of that is surprising, as this is what was expected, leaked, and rumoured, the certification does confirm the previous reports. Considering that Samsung has gotten the phone certified from the FCC, it may launch the phone soon.
While the listing doesn’t reveal other features of the phone, we have an idea about it, thanks to all the leaks and rumours. According to previous reports, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will have an 8.2-inch foldable AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate on the inside and a 6.5-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate on the outside.
As for the cameras, it will have three on the back: a 200MP sensor with a wide lens, a 12MP sensor with an ultra-wide lens, and a 10MP sensor with a 3x telephoto lens. For selfies, you will get a 10MP camera on the outer display and a 4MP under-display camera on the inside. It will offer a 4,400mAh battery and Android 16-based One UI 8.0 out of the box.
