Many existing Samsung smartphones are eligible to get the brand’s new version of Android customisation, One UI 8.5. Two among them are the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5. Now, it looks like the brand is planning to give its users early access to the new software.
The first beta builds of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5 have been spotted on Samsung’s server (via Tarun Vats). The one for the former carries firmware version F946NKSU6ZZD1, and that for the latter carries firmware version F731NKSU6ZZD1.
It suggests that the brand may open the One UI 8.5 beta program for the two smartphones, but there’s no guarantee that it will do so. People enrolling in their devices in the beta program will be able to try the new software before the brand releases its stable version to all devices.
One UI 8.5 is based on Android 16 QPR2 and offers a new user interface and many new features over One UI 8.0, giving your device a fresh breath of life. You can check them out in our video below. Samsung is also developing One UI 9.0 (Android 17). You can read more about it here.
