Samsung appears to have started testing One UI 8 for the last Galaxy Z Fold and Flip models that are eligible for the update. One UI 8 firmware for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 were spotted on Samsung's servers (via TarunVats), indicating that development on the update for these two phones has started in earnest.
Samsung still hasn't started rolling out the official One UI 8 update for any device, so the road to the actual release for Fold 4 and Flip 4 owners is likely to be a long one. Samsung will focus on newer foldables first, with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 first in line. However, once those 2024 models receive the update, it should reach older models within a month after that.
One UI 8, based on Android 16, will be the final major OS upgrade for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4. They will likely receive the One UI 8.5 update sometime next year before Samsung stops releasing feature updates and focuses purely on security updates for the remainder of the support period.
If you want the latest One UI experience as soon as possible, you may want to consider upgrading to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 or Z Flip 8. Both phones run One UI 8 out of the box and are eligible for seven generations of Android upgrades.
