The Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 received the third One UI 7.0 beta update yesterday. It brought some new features and bug fixes to the foldable phones. One of those new features is the ability to summon Google's Gemini AI assistant using the side button.
Bixby was the only digital assistant that could be summoned using the side/power button on the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6. However, the latest (third) beta version of One UI 7.0 gives it an additional option. You can now choose to activate Gemini using the side button.
To make this change, head over to Settings » Advanced features » Side button » Long press and then tap the gear-shaped icon next to the Digital Assistant option. Now, select Google from the list. If you have other supported apps, like Amazon Alexa or ChatGPT, you can choose one of those as well.
The new One UI 7.0 beta update also brought some other new features, which are listed below.
Before rolling out the stable update, Samsung could release a couple more One UI 7.0 beta updates for the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
