Samsung is developing two smartphones with a clamshell form factor and a foldable display: the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. While the former will be the brand’s new flagship model in the lineup, the latter will be more affordable, allowing more people to get their hands on Samsung’s foldable devices.
So far, there have been many leaks about the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, revealing details about the phone. Today, we have one more. It sheds light on the phone’s processor and camera setups at the front and the rear. Spoiler alert: The upcoming Galaxy Z Flip Fan Edition is looking more and more like a modified Galaxy Z Flip 5.
According to our friends at Galaxy Club, Samsung will equip the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE with the Exynos 2400e processor, the same chipset that it has used for the Galaxy S24 FE. This SoC is a slightly modified version of the Exynos 2400. The only difference between the two is that the former has a slightly lower clock speed for the prime core.
A previous leak about the phone has also suggested the same. Mind you, this information is for the phone’s international variant, which has the model number SM-F761B. Other variants of the device, such as those for the United States (SM-F761U and SM-F761U1), may feature a different processor (such as a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC).
As for the cameras, the publication claims that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 Fan Edition will feature the same front and rear cameras as the Galaxy Z Flip 5. It means that the upcoming phone will have a 12MP camera with a wide lens and a 12MP camera with an ultra-wide lens at the rear and a 10MP camera at the front.
Samsung’s current clamshell foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Flip 6, costs €899. The brand is expected to launch the upcoming model, the Galaxy Z Flip 7, at the same price. Considering that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE will offer much inferior specs, it isn’t out of scope for the South Korean tech giant to offer it at €799.
