The initial response to the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 has been very good. Consumers appear to like the company's latest foldable phones as all of the meaningful upgrades it has introduced entice customers to pick them up.
There's optimism that the new lineup will be able to crush the pre-order record for this series, which was set by the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5, in one of Samsung's most important markets.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5 had set a new pre-order record for Samsung in its home country of South Korea. More than 1.02 million units combined were sold during the pre-order period.
Analysts who have their finger on the market's pulse predict that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7 have the potential to break this record. Consumer interest in the new products is said to be very high, with more than 160,000 people singing up for just the pre-purchase notifications alone.
Local mobile carriers like SK Telecom, KT, and LG U+ are expected to heavily push these devices. Carriers are instrumental in driving smartphones sales in South Korea. They are in intense competition to drive up their subscriber numbers and they use new devices to achieve their goals.
If they have better offers on these new foldable phones, combine that with the market's inherent interest and you're left with the very real possibility that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7 end up setting new pre-order records for Samsung foldables in South Korea.
