Samsung is rolling out three new features to the Galaxy XR, which Google announced for Android XR yesterday. However, there’s one more feature the American tech giant announced for the OS yesterday, System Autospatialization, which could arrive on the Galaxy XR next year.
According to Google, System Autospatialization can transform 2D content into 3D in real time across multiple apps, offering a more immersive user experience. The brand says that since this feature runs on the headset (on the OS level), it will work with “pretty much any app.”
Samsung’s Vice President and Head of XR UX Group, Austin Lee, said, “Just imagine if every game was immersive, every YouTube video was immersive, if the entire web was immersive, that’s what Auto Spatialization can unlock.”
Google says that it will start rolling out Auto Spatialization next year. Samsung could adopt it for One UI XR and release it to the Galaxy XR soon after.
