Recent leaks and reports suggest the Galaxy S26 might not offer the significant upgrade people anticipated. However, the phones in the lineup still promise meaningful improvements like faster performance and faster wired charging. A new leak claims the Galaxy S26 will finally bring the much-awaited wireless charging upgrade.

Galaxy S26 could be Samsung's first phone with Qi2.2 wireless charging

A report from ETNews claims that Samsung will bring upgraded wireless charging with the Galaxy S26 series. While the Galaxy S26 and the Galaxy S26+ reportedly feature 20W fast wireless charging, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is said to support up to 25W fast wireless charging. All three phones are expected to have built-in magnets for alignment with Qi2 (or higher) chargers.

Since Samsung has always used the Qi standard for wireless charging on its phones, it is likely that all three Galaxy S26 series phones feature the Qi2.2 standard for wireless charging. Recently leaked renders of all three phones show built-in magnets for alignment with wireless chargers.

If this information is correct, 25W should be able to fully charge the Galaxy S26 Ultra's 5,000mAh battery in around an hour. And that would be a huge upgrade compared to wireless charging speeds on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which fully charges in around two hours.

The Galaxy S26 and the Galaxy S26+, with their 20W wireless charging speeds, should be able to top up their batteries in 1.5 hours. Moreover, all three phones will support several other accessories, such as charging stands, pucks, wallets, LED flashlights, and add-on SSDs.

In comparison, the iPhone 17 series and the Pixel 10 Pro XL support up to 25W wireless charging. All other Pixel 10 series phones support up to 15W wireless charging. So, the Galaxy S26 and the Galaxy S26+ should still be faster than the Pixel 10 series (non-Pro XL) in terms of wireless charging speeds.
