Samsung’s first Galaxy S Ultra smartphone, the Galaxy S20 Ultra, debuted with 45W wired charging, which was impressively fast at the time. However, Samsung retained the same 45W charging for the next five generations. By the end of that run, the decision drew criticism, as many rivals offered much faster charging solutions.

Now, with the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Samsung has finally made a notable upgrade. The device supports up to 60W wired charging. The company claims that with the upgrade, it can get charged up to 75% in just 30 minutes. In real-world usage, though, charging speeds appear to be even faster than Samsung’s official claims.

On X, Ice Universe reports that the Galaxy S26 Ultra, with 60W charging speed, gets charged up to 80% in 30 minutes, as opposed to 75% claimed by Samsung. In the next seven minutes, the charging level reaches 91%, and the 100% mark is achieved in 50 minutes. While those aren’t the best figures in the industry, they are still excellent.

Its main rival, the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which is Apple’s latest flagship smartphone, can get charged up to 65% in 30 minutes and takes one hour and twelve minutes to get fully charged. Note that Samsung doesn’t include a charger in the box, but it has launched a 60W charger to let you utilise the full potential of the phone’s charging speed.
