There's a lot of speculation that Samsung will increase prices for the Galaxy S26 series. The company's hand is essentially being forced due to rising component prices, particularly memory chip prices.

However, it appears that one major market might be spared the price increase, with Samsung reportedly choosing to keep prices unchanged in the United States.

Galaxy S26 could be cheaper in the US compared to South Korea

According to a new report out of South Korea, Samsung has decided to increase the Galaxy S26 lineup price in its home country. The decision has been made to pass on the impact of higher component prices as well as exchange range fluctuations to customers.

All three models, the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra will see a price increase between $30 and $60. This would represent the first local price increase for the lineup since 2023. Korean market observers are also of the view that we'll likely see increases for many of the new mobile products that Samsung Electronics releases this year.

The report does mention that Samsung intends to keep the Galaxy S26 price unchanged in major markets, particularly the United States. This would ensure that the premium devices remain competitive there in the event that rivals like Apple keep prices steady as well.

Samsung hasn't officially confirmed anything regarding the Galaxy S26 price as yet. An official quoted in the report says that the price for the Galaxy S26 hasn't been confirmed at this moment. However, a lot of signs point toward the inevitable.

Even Samsung Electronics co-CEO TM Roh has said that it's likely for Galaxy device prices to go up this year due to rising component costs. There's plenty of smoke here, so there must be a fire somewhere.
