Galaxy S26 Now Nudge explained: What can this new AI tool do?

Samsung wants to develop Galaxy phones that understand context and user intent better. Galaxy AI is the vehicle for that goal, and with the launch of the Galaxy S26 lineup, the AI suite gained a new tool that makes the latest flagship feel more proactive instead of reactive.

It’s called Now Nudge. The feature ships with One UI 8.5 on the Galaxy S26 series and should roll out to other One UI 8.5-eligible Galaxy devices after beta testing ends. Here’s a quick look at what it does.

In simple terms, Now Nudge is an AI system that taps into your apps and offers subtle suggestions based on context.

It surfaces those suggestions through the dynamic Samsung Keyboard toolbar, the same place where predictive text appears when typing. However, Now Nudge goes far beyond autocorrect and text suggestions.

Samsung divides Now Nudge into two main use cases. It can help you get things done quickly or recall information you need.

To get things done quickly, Now Nudge suggests actions based on what’s already on your screen.

To help you recall information, Now Nudge can reference previous chats, screenshots, and other saved data, then surface it without you having to do any searching manually.

Of course, if you don't want to use Now Nudge on your Galaxy S26 or another One UI 8.5 device, you won't have to. Even One UI 8.0 lets you turn off Personal Data Intelligence entirely or on an AI tool-by-tool basis.

Galaxy phone users can adjust this by opening Settings > Security and privacy > More privacy settings > Personal data intelligence.
