If you were planning to buy Samsung’s next lineup of flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S26 series, there’s some disappointing news for you. On X, a popular tipster, @UniverseIce, has shed light on memory and storage options for the Galaxy S26 series phones, and they don't seem to offer higher RAM or storage over the Galaxy S25 lineup, an upgrade that people have been asking for years.
According to the tipster, Samsung will offer the Galaxy S26 and the Galaxy S26+ in two configurations: 12GB RAM + 256GB storage and 12GB RAM + 512GB storage. Whereas, the brand will offer the Galaxy S26 Ultra in three configurations: 12GB RAM + 256GB storage, 12GB RAM + 512GB storage, and 16GB RAM + 1TB storage. The tipster says that the 16GB + 1TB model will be available only in China.
Samsung offers the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra in the same memory and storage configurations. In other words, the South Korean tech giant will not offer higher memory or storage with the Galaxy S26 series. It will, however, equip the upcoming phones with faster memory (8.7Gbps vs 10.5Gbps), which will offer many benefits in terms of camera performance.
The tipster points out that Samsung offers higher memory and storage options only in regions where people demand more. They suggest that if the brand is not offering those configurations in your region, you aren’t demanding enough, and the company is trying to squeeze as much money from you as it can.
