For the last few years, Samsung has been launching three devices in every Galaxy S series, a vanilla model, a Plus version, and an Ultra variant (not counting the Fan Edition or FE models). However, the brand broke that trend with the Galaxy S25 series, where it also launched the Galaxy S25 Edge, a flagship-grade phone with an ultra-thin and ultra-lightweight body. According to rumours, the company has also launch the Galaxy S26 Edge and it may even replace the Galaxy S26 Plus. Well, today, we have some new information about the phone.
On X, a popular tipster, @UniverseIce, claims that the Galaxy S26 Edge will be thinner than the Galaxy S25 Edge and it will feature a larger battery, which Samsung will offer by using a new battery material.
The Galaxy S25 Edge is already very thin, appealing to most people looking for a slim smartphone. With the Galaxy S26 Edge being even slimmer, it could be one of the slimmest phones in the market. One of the drawbacks of the Galaxy S25 Edge is that it has a smaller battery than most high-end phones. Fortunately, that will change with the Galaxy S26 Edge.
Could this new battery material be carbon-silicon, the same that the Chinese brands have been using for a while? Unfortunately, there’s no information about it at the moment. What we do know is that may feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset made on a 2nm fabrication process and that the brand may equip the phone with 50W wireless charging capability.
