Samsung finally rolled out an update earlier this week that brought support for AirDrop to its Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra handsets.

This update enables the Quick Share/AirDrop bridge, enabling users to send files back and forth from their device to an Apple device. Multiple users from the United States have now reported that they have received this update.

Your iPhone friends can finally AirDrop you

The update was initially rolled out in South Korea before expanding to other markets globally. It has already reached regions like Europe and India, and is now making its way to users in the US.

Google had previously announced Quick Share's ability to AirDrop files to Apple devices. The company initially offered this functionality on Pixel devices only, but it was only a matter of time before the feature became available on other devices.

Samsung's latest update brings it to the Galaxy S26 series in the United States as well. Once installed, users will see a new “Share with Apple devices” option in Quick Share settings. We've already used the feature many times, and it works as expected. AirDrop support means you can effortlessly share files between your Galaxy S26 device and Apple devices, including iOS and Mac devices.

The functionality works both ways, so your friends who use iPhones exclusively can also AirDrop stuff to you just as they would to any other iPhone user. It remains to be seen, though, when Samsung will bring this feature to older devices through an update as well.
