Samsung has rolled out a new software update for the Galaxy S25 lineup. But don't get excited: this update doesn't bring One UI 8 (Android 16) to Samsung's latest non-folding flagship phones. It's a typical monthly update that enhances device security.
In case you missed it, One UI 8 will not be arriving on any Galaxy device this month. Samsung recently announced that the official One UI 8 rollout will start sometime in September. Samsung will spend the month of August beta testing the new version of One UI and Android on several flagship and mid-range smartphones.
The latest Galaxy S25 update made its debut in Korea this week and should expand to other markets in the coming days. It comes bundled with the August 2025 security patch. This patch includes one critical and over a dozen high priority fixes from Google for the Android OS. The update also brings patches for 18 vulnerabilities that were found in Samsung's own software.
To download the update on your Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, or S25 Edge, open the Settings app, navigate to the Software update menu, and tap the Download and install button.
