Right as this month began, Samsung started rolling out the April 2026 security patch to its smartphones. The brand first offered it to the Galaxy S26 series, and now, the company has released it for the Galaxy S25 lineup.

Currently, Samsung is rolling it out in its home country, South Korea, and we expect it to release it in other countries in the next few days. The update for Galaxy S25 that brings the April 2026 security patch in Korea carries firmware version S938NKSS9BZCH (via Tarun Vats).

The April 2026 security patch, just like all the previous security patches, improves the device security. However, Samsung has not revealed how many security issues it fixes. The brand may detail it very soon. To update your Galaxy S25 to the latest firmware, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

Speaking of software updates for the Galaxy S25, in December, Samsung opened the One UI 8.5 beta program for it. So far, the company has released eight beta versions of the new software for the phones, offering them many new features. However, One UI 8.5 for them didn’t offer all the features that it did on the Galaxy S26.

That made many people furious, as the Galaxy S25 phones are capable of running most of them. It suggested that Samsung wanted to keep the features limited to the Galaxy S26 series to improve its sales. However, a few hours ago, the brand announced that it would offer many Galaxy S26 features to the Galaxy S25 with the One UI 8.5 update.
