Samsung has just launched the fifth addition to its Galaxy S25 lineup this year. As expected, the Galaxy S25 FE was unveiled during the virtual Unpacked event today.
There's little in the way of surprises in the official release as much has already been leaked about the device, but it's good to finally have the most accurate information direct from the company.
The Galaxy S25 FE is powered by an Exynos 2400 chipset which Samsung previously used for the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+. Last year's Galaxy S24 FE had an Exynos 2400e which is an underclocked version of this processor. It only gets 8GB of RAM but there are 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage variants on offer.
Samsung does point out that the Galaxy S25 FE has an over 13% larger vapor chamber which should help with heat management. This crucial component has been upgraded for the second consecutive year as the Galaxy S24 FE also had a 10% larger vapor chamber compared to its predecessor, so the compounded gains here would be noticeable.
The battery's been given a slight upgrade as it's now a 4,900mAh cell with support for 45W charger. This is a welcome improvement over last year's 4,700mAh battery and 25W fast charging speed.
The display size remains the same at 6.7-inch with similar Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz dynamic refresh rate. The IP68-rated enhanced Armor Aluminum frame provides better durability as well as a more sleek finish.
Nothing significant to report on the camera front, unfortunately, as the triple-camera setup still retains the 50-megapixel wide, 12-megapixel ultra-wide, and 8-megapixel with telephoto 3x zoom sensors like last year. The front selfie camera does get an upgrade from 10-megapixel to 12-megapixel.
Samsung provides better AI-powered image processing, with features like Nightography and Lose noise mode being improved. Galaxy AI remains front and center on the device, providing access to Gemini Live, Now Bar, Circle to Search, Generative Edit, Instant Slow-mo, Audio Eraser, and a whole host of other features.
The Galaxy S25 FE ships with Samsung's latest One UI 8 software and Android 16. Samsung has also confirmed that this device will receive seven years of Android OS and seven years of security updates.
Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S25 FE is available for purchase in select markets starting today in Icyblue, Jetblack, Navy, and White colors. Prices start at 749 euro and 649 GBP.
