Samsung wants there to be absolutely no confusion that the Galaxy S25 Edge is a true flagship device that's worthy of slotting right up there with the rest of the models in this series. While it has made some concessions in the camera department to achieve the 5.8mm thin profile, it hasn't compromised on power.
Evidently, Samsung wanted to ensure that this new device would deliver the kind of performance that customers would expect from a Galaxy S flagship. That's why it has been equipped with the latest Qualcomm chipset and 12GB of RAM.
Samsung officially launched the Galaxy S25 Edge today through a digital event on its YouTube channel. A lot of information about this device had already been leaked online, so the company has primarily confirmed pricing and availability details today.
There were rumors previously that the Galaxy S25 Edge may feature a modified version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, the chipset that was first used across the entire Galaxy S25 series earlier this year.
Those rumors have turned out to be false. It gets the same Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset that's paired with 12GB of RAM as standard. The only configuration option is the onboard storage, with customers having the choice to pick either 256GB of 512GB of internal storage.
This should ensure parity in terms of performance between the Galaxy S25 Edge and the other models in this series. Customers would appreciate this, because they'll primarily be buying this device for just how thin and light it is.
The Galaxy S25 Edge will be available in most major markets across Europe and the United States starting May 30 in Titanium Silver, Titanium Jetblack and Titanium Icyblue colors.
