After releasing the update in Europe and South Korea, Samsung has released the stable One UI 7.0 update for the Galaxy S23 series in India. The company has delayed the update by several months compared to its previous releases, but One UI 7.0 brings major UI design changes and several new features and improvements.
The Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update is rolling out to the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra in India. It comes with firmware version S91xBXXU8DYD9 and has a download size of around 5GB (around 800-900MB for One UI 7.0 beta testers). It includes the April 2025 security patch as well to make the phones more secure than earlier.
If you have a Galaxy S23 series phone and live in India, you can now check for the new update and install it on your device. You can do that by navigating to Settings » Software update » Download and install.
You can also flash the new firmware directly, but you need to be well-versed with the manual firmware flashing process that includes downloading an appropriate firmware file from our database and flashing it using the Odin tool and a computer running Windows OS.
One UI 7.0 brings a major UI redesign, featuring new app icon designs, smoother and more playful animations and transitions, and a new charging animation. It also brings the Now Bar feature for ongoing activities. Samsung has also split notifications and Quick Panel into two different pages.
You can check the new UI design and major new features in our in-depth video below.
The update also brings new widgets and a major change to the design language of widgets. There are new and more customizable widgets for the home screen and the lock screen. Samsung has also introduced big folders for the home screen. You can group alarms and add more customizations for calendar entries and reminders.
