The Galaxy S23 series may not receive the One UI 7 update by April 22 after all. Earlier this week, Canadian carrier Telus listed that date for the rollout of the update to the 2023 flagship lineup and got a lot of people excited, but it has now scrubbed that info from its website.
Should we be surprised? Not really. At this point, not seeing One UI 7 get delayed over and over would be the real surprise. However, in this instance, Samsung may have had no choice and it may be a good thing that it has chosen to delay the update for the S23 lineup.
Because of an issue related to unlocking the phone, Samsung had to pause the One UI 7 rollout for the Galaxy S24 series, and while it's disappointing to have to wait, the company will want to make sure a similar issue does not affect other devices, particularly those that weren't included in the One UI 7 beta program.
Samsung could still bring the update to the Galaxy S23 lineup before the end of the month. Well, except for the FE model, which is scheduled to be updated in May along with the other two Galaxy S FE smartphones. But there's also a chance all Galaxy S23 models will receive the update next month; we'll just have to wait and see.
