Samsung has released a new security update for the Galaxy S23 series. The update is currently available in South Korea, and it could expand to other countries and regions in the next few days.
A new software update is rolling out for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra in South Korea. It comes with firmware version S91xNKSS6DYE1 and has a download size of around 450MB. It includes the May 2025 security patch that fixes dozens of security vulnerabilities. It doesn't include any new features or enhancements.
All Galaxy S23 series users in South Korea can now install the new update on their devices. To install the update, head over to Settings » Software update » Download and install.
You can also install the update by flashing the new firmware manually. To do that, download the appropriate firmware file from our firmware database and flash it using the Odin tool on a computer running Windows operating system. You need to be well-versed in the process and back up all important data and files before initiating the process.
The Galaxy S23 series received the Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update last month. It was the second Android OS update for the phones in the lineup. Samsung launched the Galaxy S23 in early 2023 with Android 13 onboard. In late 2023, the phones received the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update.
They will get two more Android OS updates in the future, with the Android 16-based One UI 8.0 update arriving in the second half of this year.
