Samsung has now expanded the reach of the Galaxy S23 FE's One UI 8.0 update to the USA. The new software was first released in South Korea and Europe two weeks ago. This is the third major Android OS update since the phone's release, which means it will get just one more Android update in the future.
The carrier-locked variant of the Galaxy S23 FE with model number SM-S711U is now getting the One UI 8.0 update on some carrier networks. The update comes bearing firmware version S711USQU6EYIF and has a download size of a little under 3GB. Since this is a huge update, it would be a better idea to download it using a Wi-Fi network.
If you are one of those Galaxy S23 FE users living in the USA and having a carrier-locked model of the phone, you should check for the update now. You can do that by heading over to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Then, once the downloading is finished, tap the Install now button.
The Galaxy S23 FE was launched in 2023 with Android 13 (One UI 5.0) onboard. A few months later, it received the Android 14 (One UI 6.0) update. A few months ago, it received the Android 15 (One UI 7.0) update, which brought a major UI redesign.
The One UI 8.0 doesn't bring such a drastic change to the UI, but it still brings lots of new features.
The update introduces a completely new design for Quick Share. It now has two separate tabs (Receive and Send) and a full-screen UI. Samsung Internet has a new menu design and more customization options, while the stock Weather app has received new visuals.
Samsung has brought more alarm, calendar, and reminder management features to Calendar, Clock, and Reminders apps. Secure Folder is now even more secure, while Samsung DeX has display rotation options and an improved UI design.
The Camera app now has a new on-screen swipe gesture to display or hide quick camera controls. There are improvements to Bluetooth Auracast audio casts management, finding downloaded files, AI Select, and split-screen multitasking view. The Modes and Routines app has received more actions and conditions.
Samsung Health has also received new features like Antioxidant Index, Food Logging Reminder, Running Coach, and Vascular Load. Profile Cards have received an improvement, and you can see call recordings in related contacts in the Contacts app.
