Samsung has started rolling out the September 2023 security patch to the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra. At the moment, the latest software update is available in Switzerland. Other regions, as well as other variants of these phones, should also get the update in the next few days.
The new software updates for the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra come with firmware versions G980FXXSIHWHI, G985FXXSIHWHI, and G988BXXSIHWHI. The new firmware brings the September 2023 security patch, which fixes 62 security vulnerabilities.
If your phone hasn’t already notified you about the update, you can check for it manually by going to Settings » Software update and clicking on the Download and install button. You can also download the firmware from our firmware database, and then flash them manually using the Odin tool.
The Galaxy S20 series was launched with Android 10 (One UI 2.0). Samsung promised to offer three Android OS upgrades to these devices, and the company has already rolled out those updates, with the three phones now running Android 13 (One UI 5.1.1). They will not get Android 14 (One UI 6.0) update.
If you think your Galaxy S20 is getting older and are looking at new devices, you should look at the Galaxy S23 series. Here’s our review of the phone.
