Samsung's new Chrome OS-powered laptop is available in two variants. The variant featuring an Intel Celeron 5205U CPU, 4GB RAM, and 64GB storage is priced at $549.99, while the one with an Intel Core i3 CPU, 8GB RAM, and 128GB storage costs $699.99. Pre-ordering through Samsung's website offers buyers a chance to get up to $270 in trade-in credit for their existing laptop. The company is also offering 2-year and 3-year Samsung Care+ protection plans, starting from $149.99.
The Galaxy Chromebook 2 has a 13.3-inch QLED touchscreen display with Full HD resolution and 100% DCI-P3 color volume. It has a metal body and a 360-degree hinge, which makes it a convertible laptop. The Intel Core i3 (10110U) version of the Chromebook 2 has a base clock speed of 2.1GHz and can Turbo Boost up to 4.1GHz.
It has dual-5W stereo speakers with Smart AMP (up to 178% louder compared to Galaxy Chromebook), a 720p HD webcam, a microSD card slot, and a backlit keyboard. There are two USB Type-C ports, Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac/ax, Bluetooth 5.0, and a headphone+mic combo port. The Galaxy Chromebook 2 is 13.9mm thin and weighs 1.22kg. It has a 45.5WHr battery that can last up to 13 hours on a single charge.
