Samsung has unveiled its new wireless earbuds today. The company has refreshed the design with a more understated approach, particularly in comparison to the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, which had a more flashy design.

It has also made considerable improvements to audio experience and core features like Active Noise Cancellation, thereby presenting a complete package that's worthy of its price tag.

New design, improved hardware, and software enhancements

Gone is the very futuristic design of the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro and so are the blade lights. It's odd that such a hyped design element was removed after only one year, but clearly it did not fit with the aesthetic Samsung wanted for the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro.

They have a more understated yet sleek design in the blade silhouette. Samsung says it has focused on comfort by analyzing data and running thousands of simulations to deliver a highly ergonomic fit for a more secure and comfortable all-day experience.

A touch of class is added with a premium metal finish. An engraved pitch control has been added to the new stabilized blade so that users can easily locate and change settings. The charging case has also been redesigned to match the new aesthetic.

Like before, we see the Pro model feature a canal-fit design while the standard model gets an open-fit design. Samsung is offering both in White and Black colors, with an online-exclusive Pink Gold option for the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro.

Sound quality improvements have been made possible through larger speakers on both models. The Galaxy Buds 4 Pro also gets a wider woofer, which when combined with the tweeter, delivers an immersive audio experience that supports 24-bit/96kHz audio. These hardware improvements also maximize Active Noise Cancellation while minimizing feedback from external factors.

Software improvements enhance noise cancellation performance while the Adaptive ANC/EQ dynamically adjusts frequency to fine-tune sound. Super Clear Call relies on machine learning models to reduce background noise and amplify voice on calls. Heads Gesture is another Galaxy Buds 4 Pro feature that lets users management calls and bring up Bixby with simple gestures.

Samsung has opened pre-orders for the Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro today, with the devices set to be released on March 11. Prices start at $179.
