Samsung's mid-range phones, particularly the recent Galaxy A5x models, are powerful enough to deliver a smooth One UI experience. But compare the A5x with a premium Galaxy, and you'll notice that small details can make a big difference.
One clear sign that you're holding a mid-range phone and not a premium Galaxy device is the sluggish, blurry camera lens switching. But the Galaxy A57 appears to blur the lines, no pun intended.
With the brand-new Galaxy A57, Samsung seems to have focused on those finer details that can help shape the user experience. The result? The Galaxy A57 is the first in the A-series to offer blur-free zoom transitions.
Some of you might recall that the Galaxy A56, released a year ago, introduced an upgraded camera experience that sped up shooting and lens switching.
The A56 achieved a shooting speed of around 240ms, close to the Galaxy S24's 200ms, and cut lens-switching time from 980ms to 430ms in one generation.
This year, the Galaxy A57 improves other aspects of the camera experience. For the first time in the A-series, the new Galaxy A57 delivers smooth, blur-free transitions between zoom levels, particularly between the main (1x) and ultrawide (0.6x) lenses.

Its effectiveness remains to be seen. And you can be sure that we will test this feature for our upcoming hands-on videos and reviews, so stay tuned.
All in all, this Galaxy A57 camera upgrade won’t change photo quality, but it makes the camera UI feel more responsive and modern. It's a welcome quality-of-life improvement.
And in case you're wondering, spec-wise, the A57 features:
Beyond raw specs, Samsung says the A57 boasts an enhanced Image Signal Processor, improved Nightography with Low Noise Mode, and AI-based subject recognition.
The Galaxy A57 goes on sale April 10, gradually reaching more markets. In Europe, it starts at €529.
