Samsung could source OLED display panels for one of its upcoming phones, the Galaxy A57, from CSOT. Here are more details.

Samsung usually uses its own OLED display panels in Galaxy laptops, phones, smartwatches, and tablets. But there have been instances when it has purchased OLED panels for some of its devices from its rivals. And the Galaxy A57 could use an OLED panel from China's CSOT.
A report from THE ELEC claims that TCL's display manufacturing division, CSOT, could get a contract to make OLED panels for the Galaxy A57. It will be a rigid OLED panel, and not a flexible one. So, it is likely that the Galaxy A57 won't have uniform thin bezels. Its chin (bottom bezel) could be thicker than the bezels on the three remaining sides.
CSOT won't be the sole supplier of the panels, though. Samsung Display will supply the remaining OLED panels for the Galaxy A57. Even the Galaxy S26 FE, which could launch in the end of 2026, could use the same panel that is used in the Galaxy A57.
Rigid OLED panels are cheaper but result in phones with thicker and non-uniform bezels. Flexible OLED panels are pricier but allow phones to have thin and uniform bezels around the display.
While Chinese firms have been using flexible OLED panels in phones priced as low as $250, Samsung still hasn't used such panels even in Galaxy phones that cost as much as $650. For example, the Galaxy S25 FE uses a rigid OLED panel, which is why it has a thicker chin.
The report claims that Samsung MX (smartphone division) has requested Samsung Display (display division) to supply flexible OLED panels at the same price as rigid ones so that they can be used in devices like the Galaxy A58 and the Galaxy S27 FE in 2027.
