Samsung’s four Galaxy A5x series smartphones, the Galaxy A56, Galaxy A55, Galaxy A54, and Galaxy A53, are getting software updates in the brand’s home country, South Korea. They bring the February 2026 security patch, which addresses 37 security issues, making these devices more secure.
The latest updates for the Galaxy A56, Galaxy A55, Galaxy A54, and Galaxy A53 carry firmware versions A536NKSSFGZB2, A546SKSSFEZB2, A556SKSS6CZB2, and A566SKSS5BZB6, respectively. To get it, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
Samsung should release the update in other regions in the next few days. Usually, the brand releases a month’s security update in the same month. However, that hasn’t been the case with the February 2026 security patch, most likely because the company was busy with the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event, where it launched the Galaxy S26 series and the Buds 4 lineup.
The Galaxy A56, Galaxy A55, Galaxy A54, and Galaxy A53 are eligible to get One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2), which packs a new user interface and many new features. Samsung is expected to start rolling it out to eligible devices in the next few weeks.
