The Galaxy A55’s variant that Samsung sells internationally, including African, Asian, and Middle Eastern countries, is getting a new software update, and it offers the June 2025 security patch, which fixes many security issues.
The software update carries firmware version A556EXXU8BYF3, and it is currently live in three countries: Malaysia, Philippines, and Vietnam. You can get it by going to Settings » Software update » Download and install.
The firmware is also available in our database. You can download it from there and then use a Windows PC to install it on your phone. Before you go ahead with the manual installation process, we recommend that you back up your data on the phone.
While we are on the topic of software updates, it is worth mentioning that Samsung is testing Android 16-based One UI 8.0, and the Galaxy A55 is eligible to get it. Unfortunately, there's no information about when Samsung will release it to the device.
Samsung should expand the June 2025 security patch for the Galaxy A55 to other variants of the phone, including the Chinese, European, and Korean models, in the next few days. Follow our channel on Telegram or WhatsApp to get more such updates.
