The Galaxy A53 is getting the October 2023 security update with firmware version A536BXXS7CWI1 in several European countries, including Austria, Croatia, France, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and the UK. This update fixes dozens of security flaws that were found in the previous version of the software for the device. It doesn't bring any new features or performance updates.

In the US, the carrier-locked version of the Galaxy A53 has started getting the update with firmware version A536USQS8CWI1, and it is available on Comcast and Xfinity Mobile networks. In Hong Kong and Taiwan, the phone is getting the new security update with firmware version A5360ZHS7CWI1.
