Samsung is rolling out a new software update to one of its Galaxy A-series smartphones from last year, the Galaxy A35. Unfortunately, it doesn’t bring the Android 15-based One UI 7.0 which people have been eagerly waiting for. Instead, it offers the February 2025 security patch, which fixes a ton of security issues, making the device more secure than before against various threats.
So far, Samsung has made the new update available to the variant of the Galaxy A35 that it sells mainly in Europe, which has the model number SM-A356B. It is live in Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. The new firmware carries version A356BXXS4AYB1.
You can get the update by going to Settings » Software update > Download and install or by downloading the firmware from our database (or any other trusted source) and installing it using Odin on a Windows PC. We recommend you back up your data before taking the second route as it is more risky and could brick your device.
It is worth mentioning that Samsung is developing Galaxy A36, the successor to the Galaxy A35. Leaks suggest that the upcoming phone will offer a new design, a more powerful processor, better cameras, and faster charging speeds. Considering that Samsung launched the Galaxy A35 in March 2024, we expect it to launch the Galaxy A36 next month (March 2025).
