With no AI tools at all, the Galaxy A24 is starting to fall behind fast.

Compared to its sequels, and especially this year's model, the Galaxy A24 from 2023 is lagging behind in a few key areas, such as build quality and performance.
And one of the biggest differences in terms of software and the user experience is that the Galaxy A26 introduced a few AI features, while the Galaxy A24 has none, even after the recent One UI 8 update. Here's what you're missing out on.
First things first, you may know that no Galaxy A-series phone supports generative Galaxy AI tools. However, newer Galaxy A models do have what Samsung calls “Advanced Intelligence” features.
These are relatively simple AI tools that are not as powerful as generative Galaxy AI, but they can improve the user experience in interesting ways.
Sadly, these features haven't been added retroactively to the Galaxy A24, and by the looks of it, they never will. Even the Galaxy A26 doesn't have the full suite of Advanced Intelligence features, as the A56 does, but at least it has a few.
If you are thinking on replacing your Galaxy A24 with the newer A26 this year, here are the handful of AI tools you will gain access to once you upgrade:
These are the intelligent features the Galaxy A26 introduced to the A2x series this year. Even the Galaxy A25 doesn't have them.
If the list isn't all that compelling, pricier and more powerful models, such as the Galaxy A56, offer a couple of additional AI features, namely Best Face and Auto Trim. But they're still not based on generative AI.
So, to recap, the cheapest upgrade ticket for Galaxy A24 users who want access to AI tools is the Galaxy A26. Then, the Galaxy A56 comes with a few more Advanced Intelligence tools, and it's a great upgrade option if you can afford the higher price.
Lastly, if you want access to the full-fledged Galaxy AI suite, you can't settle for anything less than the Galaxy S25 FE.
