After launching the Galaxy A17 5G in Ireland, Taiwan, and the UK, Samsung has launched the affordable phone in India. It features a more durable design, a better primary camera, and newer software compared to the Galaxy A16 5G that was launched last year. Moreover, it comes with a surprise in the box.
The Galaxy A17 5G comes in three memory configurations in India, and the pricing of all those configurations is listed below.
Samsung has launched three color variants—Black, Blue, and Grey—of the phone in India. You can buy it from Amazon.in, Flipkart, Samsung Shop, and other authorized retailers across India.
The company is offering an instant discount of INR 1,000 if you purchase the Galaxy A17 5G using an HDFC Bank or SBI credit card via Samsung's website. This discount is available on both full payment and EMI payment options.
Samsung stopped offering a charger with its new phones, but the Galaxy A17 5G comes with a 25W USB Type-C charger in the box. This information was leaked a few weeks ago, but the move is now official. It would be great if the company can start bundling chargers with other Galaxy phones.
The Galaxy A17 5G features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The phone has a plastic frame and back, and it features an IP54 rating for dust and water splash resistance.
It has a 13MP selfie camera, a 50MP primary rear camera with OIS, a 5MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. It can record 1080p videos at 30fps using its front and rear cameras. It is equipped with the Exynos 1330 processor, 6GB/8GB RAM, 128GB/256GB storage, and a microSD card slot.
The phone runs Android 15 and One UI 7.0 out of the box and will get six major Android OS updates (up to Android 21) and security patches for up to six years.
It has a side-mounted capacitive fingerprint reader, GPS, 5G, a dual-SIM card slot, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, USB Type-C port, and a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging.
