Samsung has been really quick at rolling out the March 2025 security patch to eligible smartphones and tablets. We haven’t even reached the end of the month, and the brand is already offering it to entry-level devices. Case in point: the Galaxy A16.
At the moment, Samsung is offering it to the international variant of the Galaxy A16, which has the model number SM-A165F. The new firmware carries version A165FXXS2AYB2. The March 2025 security patch fixes 58 security issues, making the device safer than before.
To get the latest update on your Galaxy A16, go to Settings » Software update » Download and install. You can also get it from our firmware section and install it manually using a Windows PC and Odin. We recommend that you back up your data before taking the second route.
The Galaxy A16 is eligible to get Samsung’s Android 15-based One UI 7.0. It will offer a revamped UI, new features, and smoother performance. The brand will start rolling it on 7 April 2025. At first, it will offer it to new and high-end devices, then to older and more affordable ones.
