Galaxy A07 5G goes official with display and battery upgrades

Samsung has quietly listed its cheapest new 5G phone on its website. It is the Galaxy A07 5G, and it offers a higher capacity battery and a smoother display than its predecessor, the Galaxy A06 5G. Samsung is also promising up to six major Android OS updates for the phone.

The Galaxy A07 5G has appeared on Samsung Thailand’s website in two memory configurations: 4GB + 128GB and 6GB + 128GB. The 4GB RAM variant is priced at THB 5,499 ($175), while the 6GB RAM model costs THB 5,999 ($190). It is available in Black and Light Violet color options.

The smartphone features a 6.7-inch PLS LCD display with HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 800 nits of peak brightness. The refresh rate is 50% higher than that of the Galaxy A06 5G. The phone still features an ugly, U-shaped notch at the top to accommodate the front-facing camera. Samsung should get rid of this screen notch in all its phones as soon as possible.

To support the smoother display, Samsung has equipped the Galaxy A07 5G with a 6,000mAh battery, which is 20% larger than its predecessor’s.

It sports Samsung’s Key Island design on the right side, where the power and volume buttons are placed. The power button also doubles as a capacitive fingerprint scanner.

For photography, the phone has an 8MP front-facing camera that can record Full HD video at 30fps. On the back, it features a 50MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture and Full HD video recording at 30fps, accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor for portrait shots.

The Galaxy A07 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor and comes with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM, along with 128GB of internal storage. Storage can be expanded by up to 2TB via a microSD card slot. The phone runs Android 16 with One UI 8.0 out of the box and will be updated up to Android 22 in the future.

Connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 5G, GPS, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, and a USB 2.0 Type-C port. It also supports up to 25W fast wired charging. It weighs 199g and measures 167.4 x 77.4 x 8.2mm, making it slightly heavier and thicker than the Galaxy A06 5G.
