If your Samsung washing machine's auto dispenser is using too much detergent or fabric conditioner/softener, here's how you can fix it.
Reading time: 3 minutes
Samsung’s high-end smart front-load and top-load washing machines come with auto dispenser. It has two compartments, one for detergent and one of fabric conditioner or softener. Once you fill them with appropriate products, it will automatically dispenses certain amounts of the two liquids into the drum during every wash cycle. Once filled, it lasts for multiple wash cycles. The feature eliminates the need for you to manually measure and add detergent and conditioner to the washer during each wash cycle.
However, a few people might find that it consumes too much detergent and softener. Well, there’s a quick solution to the problem. Just go to the SmartThings app and set amount of detergent and conditioner that the washer should dispense during each cycle (along with customizing the concentration of the softener and water hardness). So, how do you do it? Read below to know the process and understand the various options in it.
Now, your Samsung washing machine should use significantly lower detergent and conditioner/softener. A few people might suggest you to dilute the detergent or softener with water, which should solve the issue. However, we recommend you not do this as it could change the chemistry of liquids as they sit with water for too long in the auto dispenser which could reduce their effectiveness.
Note that Samsung's non-smart front-load and top-load washing machines also come with auto dispenser. These models also allow you to customise the amount and concentration of detergent and conditioner and set the water hardness level, which you can change from on-board controls. As each model may have different set of buttons and menus, we are not listing the down the process for each of them here. You can check them out in the owner's manual.
