In India, you will find counterfeit products in almost every product category, but mostly in the smartphone, smartwatch, earbud, tablet, and laptop markets. When it comes to fake mobile phones, you will mainly find counterfeit versions of Apple’s iPhone models and Samsung’s Galaxy phones. Well, an operation by a law agency in the country will cut down the number of fake Samsung phones in the market.
According to a report from The Indian Express, India's Delhi Police received a tip about a shop in the city where a group of people were manufacturing fake Samsung smartphones. On the intervening night of 13 December 2025 and 14 December 2025, the law agency acted on the tip and raided the shop. During the raid, Delhi Police busted four people making fake Samsung phones using parts imported from China.
The law agency found 512 fake Samsung Galaxy phones, which included counterfeit versions of Galaxy S Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold, and Galaxy Z Flip smartphones. They were planning to sell each phone between INR 35,000 and INR 40,000. Delhi Police also came across 124 motherboards, 138 batteries, 459 fake IMEI stickers saying “Made in Vietnam,” and special tools for assembling phones.
The next step in the investigation is to trace the supply chain and contact buyers to uncover the network linked to the manufacturing and sale of fake Samsung phones. With the latest bust and further investigation, there will be fewer fake Samsung phones for sale on the market. That will not only protect people from falling into the trap of these criminals but also benefit Samsung.
