Exynos 2600 may beat Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 in performance

The latest information about Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 shows that it may be less powerful than the Exynos 2600.

Samsung’s next flagship chipset for mobile devices is expected to be the Exynos 2600, which the brand may use for the Galaxy S26 series. It will compete directly with Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset for mobile devices, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which the South Korean tech giant may also use for the Galaxy S26 lineup in a few regions.

However, Qualcomm will have not one but two flagship-grade chips this year, with the other being the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, which it may launch soon. That means the Exynos 2600 will also go up against it. Well, now, a popular tipster has shed light on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 specs and performance, showing how it stacks up against the Exynos 2600.

According to Digital Chat Station (via Android Authority), Qualcomm will get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 made on TSMC’s N3P fabrication process, the same as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. It will have two prime CPU cores with a 3.8GHz frequency and six high-performance CPU cores with a 3.32GHz frequency.  For graphics, it will feature the Adreno 840 GPU.

The tipster says that on Geekbench, the chipset scores around 3,000 points in the single-core CPU test and around 10,000 points in the multi-core CPU test. In comparison, the Exynos 2600 scores around 3,500 and 11,500 points in the single-core and multi-core CPU tests, respectively. That means the Exynos 2600 will be more powerful than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 in the CPU department.

While initial reports suggest that the Exynos 2600 may beat the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, they also show that it is weaker than the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which scores around 3,800 and 12,100 points in Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core CPU tests. However, we can’t say anything for sure until phones featuring these chipsets arrive.
