Amazon has announced that Crunchyroll, a Sony-owned video streaming platform that mainly consists of anime content from Japan, is now available on Amazon Prime Video Channels in the US, UK, Sweden, and Canada. That means you can now access Crunchyroll within Amazon Prime Video by subscribing to the channel at an additional fee. According to Amazon, Crunchyroll will “soon become available on Prime Video in more territories throughout 2024.”

In the US, Crunchyroll is offering two subscription plans on Amazon Prime Video Channels: Fan and Mega Fan. The Fan subscription costs $7.99 per month and gives you “unlimited, ad-free access to Crunchyroll's vast library and access to new episodes shortly after release in Japan”. The Mega Fan subscription costs $8.99 per month and in addition to everything that the Fan plan offers, it lets you “download titles for offline viewing,” with “additional non-video benefits and perks on the way”.

Crunchyroll subscriptions cost the same on Amazon Prime Video Channels as they do on Crunchyroll’s own platform. So, no matter which platform you end up choosing, you will pay the same amount of money. According to Amazon, Crunchyroll has more than 1,300 series and films, 46,000 episodes, and 24,000 hours of content. The company also says that over fifty new titles including Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, One Piece, and JUJUTSU KAISEN are coming to Crunchyroll this season.
