FE stands for "Fantastically Expensive."

Samsung has added a new model to its foldable lineup today, marking the series' expansion into a more price conscious segment, though whether it will achieve the objective at these prices remains to be seen.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE was made official today alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7 at Samsung's Unpacked event in New York City. It joins Samsung's longstanding “Fan Edition” family that aims to deliver premium experiences at a more attractive price point.

However, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE price isn't as attractive as people might have hoped. It still seems a bit more expensive than it should have been, if the idea was to bring more people into the foldable segment and then have them eventually upgrade to the more premium models, as the Galaxy S FE series has done brilliantly over the past few years.
Prices for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE start at $899 for the 128GB and $959 for the 256GB variant in the United States. There's 8GB of RAM as standard across the entire lineup. It's just $200 less than the 256GB Galaxy Z Flip 7 which isn't a lot, particularly when most consumers in the US buy their phones on equipment installment plans.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is priced at 999 and 1059 euro in Europe for the two storage variants. Customers in the United Kingdom will pay £848 and £909, respectively. Again, the difference between the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE and Z Flip 7 in those markets isn't as significant.
Had the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE been priced in the $700 – $750 range in the United States it would have been a much better value proposition, considering the device is essentially a rebadged Galaxy Z Flip 6 with a slower chipset.
Pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE are open today. It's available in Black and White colors.
