US-unlocked Galaxy A53 5G picks up Android 13 update

The international version of the Galaxy A53 5G (SM-A536E) received the January 2023 security patch last month. Today, the carrier-unlocked variant of the device for the US market (SM-A536U1) has started getting the Android update along with the latest security patch from Samsung.

The Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update for the Galaxy A53 5G comes with firmware version A536U1UEU4BWA5. It packs the January 2023 security patch as well, and it fixes more the fifty security vulnerabilities. The update is currently rolling out to the devices on AT&T, Bluegrass Cellular, Cellular South, Comcast, Cricket, Nextech, US Cellular, and Xfinity Mobile networks.

If you are in the US and own the Galaxy A53 5G, you can install the Android 13 update by navigating to Settings » Software update and clicking on the Download and install button. Alternatively, you can also download the update from our firmware section and install it manually.

Launched in March 2022, the Galaxy A53 5G is one of the best smartphones from Samsung with an affordable price tag. The phone made its debut with Android 12 (One UI 4.1), and it recently received the Android 13 (One UI 5.0) update.
