Adobe Photoshop is coming to Samsung Galaxy devices with a catch

If that sounds too good to be true, that's because it sort of is. There is a catch to all this. Adobe's new mobile app is not quite the Photoshop tool you might be used to on your desktop machine.

As per Adobe's description, Photoshop on mobile is a brand-new, free image editing and design app with a reimagined UI optimized for phones.

However, it is not meant to replace Photoshop on the desktop, “particularly for Photoshop users who already harness the full power and precision of the desktop app.”

Adobe adds that while Photoshop for desktop has deep and powerful tools for precision editing on larger screens, the Photoshop mobile app empowers mobile-first creators “who may just be getting started.”

As far as what the new app can do, Adobe says Photoshop for mobile allows mobile creators to “add, remove, adjust, and combine content.” It also enables access to a rich library of free Adobe Stock assets.

Free users get many great features, including unlimited layers and full-resolution editing. However, Adobe also brings a premium (paid) Photoshop mobile & web plan, which adds cloud-sync capabilities, extra tools, Generative AI with Firefly, and more.

There is one more catch. The app is available on iOS right now, but it is not out yet for Android. In other words, you can't use it on your Galaxy phone just yet. On the bright side, Adobe says the Android app will be released “soon” and offers a sign-up page.
