The Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge are Samsung's first devices to feature touch-based fingerprint sensors. This is a great move from Samsung as it becomes less cumbersome for users to unlock their devices or authorize payments through PayPal as well as Samsung Pay.
Just like you, we were interested to know about the speed improvements in the fingerprint recognition process when we exclusively reported that the South Korean smartphone giant was planning to use touch-based fingerprint sensor on its latest flagship. While we were at the MWC 2015, we got a chance to play with these devices, and we've recorded the whole process of fingerprint registration as well as its use while unlocking the device.
While registering your fingerprints, one has to cover a wide area of their fingers by tapping on the home button multiple times as well as by swiping the finger over it. As you can see in the video, it hardly takes a second to unlock the device using the new fingerprint sensor.
