It is quite surprising to see that AT&T has released an OTA software update for a three year old device from Samsung. The Galaxy S II Skyrocket (SGH-i727), which was released back in November 2011 with Android v2.3.5 Gingerbread and LTE connectivity, was updated to Android v4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and then to Android v4.1.2 Jelly Bean. Now, AT&T has released a software update for the Galaxy S II Skyrocket which apparently brings “Android OS Enhancements.” The OTA update, with has a file size of 12.6MB, bumps up the software version to I727UCNJ1 but the Android version still stays at v4.1.2. If you are someone who is still rocking the Galaxy S II Skyrocket, head over to the system settings and update your device.
