Samsung's first metallic Android phone will soon be available for purchase in a few countries across the world. The Galaxy Alpha will go on sale in the UK starting September 12th along with a few other countries, and in Canada on September 26th. In the UK, the Galaxy Alpha will be priced at £549, while in Canada it will be available for 699.95 Canadian dollars (US$638), or for 149.95 CAD on a contract. Canadian carrier Bell is already taking pre-orders for the phone, and other carriers will also sell it in the future, though Samsung is keeping details on US availability under wraps for now.

The Galaxy Alpha features a 4.7-inch HD display, an octa-core Exynos 5430 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 12-megapixel rear camera, 32GB of non-expandable memory, an 1,860 mAh battery, fingerprint and heart rate scanners, and Android 4.4.4. It sports a metal rim on the sides, and is the slimmest Galaxy smartphone ever at 6.7 mm.
