The Galaxy K zoom, Samsung's latest cameraphone, will soon be launching in India, and it will be exclusively sold by Amazon India. It's a surprising move, considering Samsung's devices are usually as widely available as possible given the company's immense resources and marketing might, but we're guessing the exclusivity on the Galaxy K zoom might be because such devices aren't in high demand in the world's second most populous country. Whether other online retailers will offer the device later on remains to be seen, and we will also need to wait for details on pricing and availability, though a listing on the Amazon India website suggests a launch shouldn't be far off.
The Galaxy K zoom features a 20.7 MP 1/2.3 BSI CMOS camera sensor with 10x optical zoom, Xenon flash and optical image stabilization. The K zoom offers a total of 28 shooting modes and comes with a redesigned camera UI that looks similar to what is offered in the Galaxy S5; the device itself looks quite similar to Samsung’s latest flagship, even including the dimpled back that debuted on the Galaxy S5.
Other hardware of the device include a 4.8-inch 720p screen, a hexa-core Exynos 5 Hexa 5260 processor with two 1.7GHz Cortex-A15 cores and four 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 cores, 2 GB RAM, 8 GB internal memory, 2.1 MP front shooter and a 2430 mAh battery. As far as connectivity goes, the K Zoom comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0LE, GPS, NFC and HSPA+ (42 Mbps), and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat.
