Samsung starts selling the Galaxy Camera 2 in South Korea

Samsung has begun selling the Galaxy Camera 2 in South Korea. The successor to the original Galaxy Camera was unveiled at the CES last month. The Galaxy Camera 2 comes with a 16.3 megapixel 1/2.3-inch BSI CMOS sensor that features OIS and 21x optical zoom. It is powered by a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor, 2 GB RAM and comes with 8 GB internal storage, of which 2.8 GB is available to the user. There is a micro-SD card slot to boost storage to 64 GB. The Galaxy Camera 2 comes with Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC and Bluetooth connectivity. While the original Galaxy Camera featured cellular connectivity, it looks like the Galaxy Camera 2 will be a Wi-Fi only offering.

The Android 4.3 Jelly Bean toting Galaxy Camera 2 costs 499,000 won ($465) in South Korea, and is available in white.  The camera does come with a 4.8-inch screen that comes with a pinch to zoom functionality. Samsung also confirmed the camera’s availability in India at the Samsung Forum 2014 in Bali yesterday, with the device set to make its debut in the country shortly.
