Samsung Galaxy A23 5G with IP68 rating goes official in Japan

Samsung has launched the Galaxy A23 5G in Japan, but it's not the same as the phone's international version. The Japanese Galaxy A23 5G comes with a smaller display, only one rear camera, and an IP68 rating. In comparison, the global version has a high-refresh-rate display, four rear cameras, and a higher-resolution front camera.

The Galaxy A23 5G in Japan comes with a 5.8-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution and a V-shaped notch. The phone comes equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, and a microSD card slot (up to 1TB). It runs Android 12-based One UI 4.1 out of the box.

On the rear, the Japanese version of the Galaxy A23 5G has a 50MP camera with an F1.8 aperture and Full HD video recording at 30fps. On the front, the smartphone has a 5MP camera with Full HD video recording. As mentioned earlier, it has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

Samsung has equipped the phone with a side-mounted fingerprint reader, GPS, 5G, Nano SIM card slot, eSIM, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It is powered by a 4,000mAh battery and supports up to 15W fast charging. It is priced at JPY 32,800 (around $231).
