Support for Samsung Galaxy phones was bafflingly missing on Googlebook laptops.

A few weeks ago, Google unveiled a brand-new operating system for laptops: Googlebook OS. It is meant to offer deep integration with Android phones and tablets. Bafflingly, support for some of those integrations was absent for Samsung Galaxy phones at launch. Fortunately, Google has now solved most of these issues.
The Better Together feature set available on Googlebook laptops initially lacked support for Samsung's devices. Following several user complaints, Google listened to the feedback and released an update to bridge the gap.
In a Reddit post, Google's Mishaal Rahman confirmed that Better Together features (including Cast My Apps, Continue On, Notification Sync, and Quick Access) are arriving on Samsung phones running One UI 9.0 (Android 17). This rollout comes through updates to Cross-Device Services, Google Play Services, and other background apps from Google.
The company noted that users must ensure Cross-Device Services and Google Play Services are updated to their latest available versions. Once all background services are up to date, users may also need to restart both their Galaxy phone and their Googlebook laptop. You can read more detailed troubleshooting guidelines here.
Some Galaxy users have already confirmed that their phones are now working with Googlebooks.
Samsung hasn't launched any Googlebook OS-based laptop yet. However, we exclusively reported a few months ago that the company is working on multiple Galaxy Book laptops that run Android and have One UI features.
Recently, an unannounced Samsung laptop using the Snapdragon X Elite chip and running Android 17 (same as Googlebook OS), was spotted. It could debut next year.
