Samsung may have taken a little longer than expected to start rolling out the One UI 9 update for eligible devices in earnest. But it seems the company could make up for it by releasing One UI 9.5 sooner than usual.
Just a day after One UI 9 was released for the Galaxy A57 in Samsung's home country, One UI 9.5 test firmware has been spotted for the phone on Samsung's servers.
What's impressive is how quickly Samsung seems to have started working on One UI 9.5 for the Galaxy A57. Last year, the first One UI 8.5 test firmware for the Galaxy A56 was spotted in December.
However, whether this will translate into the official One UI 9.5 update arriving much earlier than One UI 8.5 did for the A56 remains to be seen. Either way, Samsung will make every existing customer wait for One UI 9.5 until after it unveils the Galaxy S27 series next year.
For now, Galaxy A57 owners can look forward to the One UI 9.0 (Android 17) update finally arriving on their phones. Korean users have already received it, and other markets should join the party in the coming days.
Samsung will likely launch a One UI 9.5 beta program for the Galaxy A57 and other devices before the end of the year.
